The electric motor control and protection cabinet is designed for: starting or stopping electric motors in manual and automatic modes; current overload protection; protection against disconnection, distortion, violation of alternating phases of the permanent network; protection against violation of insulation of motor windings; protection when the temperature of the electric motor is exceeded. Structurally, the control and protection cabinet of the electric motor is made of hinged metal construction with IP 54 degree of protection.
The electric motor control and protection board is intended for constant control of mains voltage parameters and values of phase/line currents of three-phase power supply of asynchronous electric motors with power from 2.5 kW to 25 kW. The shield provides full and effective protection of electric motors, blocking the start of electric motors in the following cases: Inadmissible voltage surges, phase interruption, violation of the alternation and sticking of phases, misalignment of phase/linear voltage; mechanical overloads (symmetrical overloads by phase/line currents) – protection against overloads with a time delay; asymmetric overloads on phase/line currents associated with breakdowns in the electric motor, protection from distortions of phase currents with further prohibitions of automatic reactivation; asymmetry of phase currents without overload, associated with a violation of the insulation inside the electric motor or the cable connected to the motor; loss of torque on the electric motor shaft (dry run for pumps) – protection against the minimum starting or operating current; unacceptably low level of insulation on the case-check and blocking of the starter in case of poor insulation; when the stator winding is shorted to the ground during operation – protection against leakage currents to the ground.
