GROUNDING CONDUCTORS

GROUNDING CONDUCTORS

In order to ensure the reliability and safety of operation of the power line, the grounding of metal structures is carried out by the organization with the help of conductors. ZP grounding conductors are used for grounding various elements of 6 kV and 10 kV power transmission lines. For specially laid grounding conductors, steel is mainly used. The exception is flexible jumpers for moving current collectors, and in cases where there is a need for increased flexibility or special requirements for conductivity, copper will be used.

If the voltage is 380/220 V with a grounded neutral, then grounding is done by connecting to the grounded neutral wire, that is, zeroing is performed. The protection, which is in good condition, will be able to ensure the disconnection of the faulty section of the network, on which there was a short circuit or a violation of the insulation. But do not forget that in the conditions of an aggressive environment, the insulation on wires of some brands and aluminum cores is destroyed. A white coating gradually appears on the veins, then shells are formed, leading to a cliff. It is impossible to allow a break in the neutral wire circuit, because in this case, the full working voltage of the network appears on the housings of the electrical equipment, which creates a direct danger of electrocution. From the above, it can be understood that it is necessary to improve electrical safety conditions. This is achieved by the open laying of the grounding network, which has reliable welded joints of steel conductors, accessible for inspection, which is connected by the conclusions of the external grounding device located in the ground. From this network, strong jumpers connect the frames of panels, cabinets and other grounding elements (zeroing), as well as the neutral busbars of the panels. Thus, multiple repeated grounding of the neutral wire is obtained, which works even if the latter breaks, and the reliability of the grounding operation increases compared to the use of aluminum conductors. Outdoor electrical installations located in the open air outside buildings are exposed to external environmental factors (precipitation and sudden changes in air temperature), so the conductors are treated with paint, but despite this fact, the corrosion of steel grounding conductors is stronger than inside buildings.
