Operational current shields (uninterruptible power supply)

Cabinets of operational direct current of the SCO type (analogous names – SHUOT, ShPT) are designed for uninterrupted power supply of operational control, protection, automation and signaling circuits at power stations and substations, and can also be used in other industries. SCO cabinets can be both self-sufficient devices for uninterrupted power supply of automation systems, and part of an operational direct current system of the type at a substation or RP.

The operational direct current cabinet provides uninterrupted power supply to the most important consumers when the network is disconnected by automatically connecting a backup power source – storage batteries. After restoring the connection with the main power source, the operational current cabinet of the SCO provides automatic charging of batteries with simultaneous powering of consumers.

Field of application

The operational current cabinets of SCO are oriented to the domestic consumer, in the production process of which the reliability of the power supply plays a significant role. As a rule, these are enterprises operating in a continuous technological cycle:

petrochemical industry;
pulp and paper and mining industry;
metallurgy and mechanical engineering;
TPP facilities and the energy sector;
airports;
port facilities;
communication nodes telecommunication systems;
medical institutions;
distribution points for powering operational circuits of relay protection and automation schemes.

The SCO cabinet is intended for use in networks of both single-phase and three-phase alternating current with a voltage of 220 and 380 V, respectively, a frequency of 50 Hz with a blindly grounded neutral.

Description

Conversion to constant voltage is carried out by rectifiers. As standard, up to 8 automatic switches (feeders of outgoing lines) are installed in the cabinet. DC automatic circuit breakers of various manufacturers can be used – Siemens, ABB, OEZ, Schneider Electric, ETI. The use of highly reliable components made it possible to ensure the reliable operation of the manufactured SCO cabinets in any conditions.

The SCO DC cabinet provides maintenance of a stabilized DC voltage at the output of the system and automatic recharging of storage batteries. During a power outage, the SCO cabinet maintains a constant set output power of the load for a set time. Shutdown is provided by a contactor (protection against deep battery discharge) when the battery voltage reaches 184 V.

On the front panel of the cabinet, there are incandescent lamps that display the state of the cabinet, and a pointer voltmeter that indicates the output voltage. Also, all parameters can be controlled using the control unit of the installed rectifiers. The parameters are displayed on the controller display or can be viewed using a personal computer.

Rectifiers and chargers of various domestic and foreign manufacturers can be used as part of the cabinets.

Sealed, maintenance-free batteries with a service life of more than 10 years are used.

The operational current cabinet is manufactured according to two main schemes: with sectioning and without sectioning.

Wide range of input and output voltage.

Cooling of chargers is natural (no fan).

High-performance controllers are used to control the power modules of the charger. They provide both control (distribution of the load on the modules) and collection of the necessary information, which is displayed on the touchscreen graphic screen.

Automatic control of insulation on tires.

Controls the position of automatic switches.

Operation of all cabinet systems both from the external network and from batteries.

Output of the state of the outgoing circuit breakers and the necessary signals to the external terminal.

A heating system can be provided to exclude condensate.
